8:22AM - Hey, Remember this...

Leadership-

Please POST YOUR RESPONSE to the following and RESPOND TO A CLASSMATE:

What was the BEST part of your two week break? Why was it the best part?
What was the WORST part of your two week break? Why was it the worst part?

Also - to make you think:

There are six months left of the school year. What do you want to accomplish in this time? What assistance/help will you need in accomplishing this goal? What are the obstacles in achieving the goal?

In responding to your classmates, you could possibly brainstorm solutions to the obstacles that they see.

2:29PM - these are the best days of our lives

Im so impressed with the homecoing court (top 14 baby!)
this week has been a rush! but there is nothing like the feeling of seeing all your hard work played out... i felt like we had a perfect rally. Julie and i have made a wonderful friendship outta all this and i couldnt be happier with our homecoming court. these are the times i regret not being in leadership my freshmen and sophmore years because our friendships and the things we can pull off as a team are more then amazing! there is nothing like being in highschool, this thought came to me when i realized my dad had erased the pics of the rally i had taken on friday and i just kept thinking you cant get thoses moments back and they are beautiful! luckly my mom had downloaded them already so i stopped freaking out!
this week is going to be amazing, no matter how stressed we are remember no matter what experiences we have after this nothing will be as unique as what we have here! i love you all leadership class!!!

10:04PM - Congratulations

Congratulations to the Leadership class of 2004-2005!

First, you ALL have made it through the first quarter with grades to REMAIN IN L-SHIP! That makes me super happy.

Also, congratulations to the representatives of the Leadership class in the Homecoming Court: Jack, Elizabeth, Amanda, Nicole, Mariela, and Calvin. I know you will represent us well.

...If it were up to me, ALL of my seniors would be on there because I believe that you guys truly represent the BEST of what Liberty has to offer.

Finally, congratulations and GREAT JOB to Lisi and Lauren for the Junior Skit. Your hard work paid off. THAT is what a Junior Skit should look like.

THANK YOU to everyone for your hard work this week and thank you for putting up with me if I have been snippy.

10:39PM - Leadership Homework #2

Please post your response, and RESPOND TO AT LEAST THREE other classmates, to the following questions:

What, in your opinion, is the definition of "leader"? Who, do you believe, is a good example of a Leader? Why? How can you be a leader within the Leadership class at Liberty? Within the school as a whole? Within the Brentwood community? What qualities can detract from someone being called/known as a leader?

I am honestly VERY impressed with you as a group so far this year. As Mariela has often stated, myself and ASB saw something SPECIAL in each of you that we thought would really be an asset to the class. Thank you for proving to us that we were right! :) Keep up the good work and please let me know if you need any help.

10:38PM - TOMORROW

I'm hoping that one of you is still up and potentially on LIVEJOURNAL right now and can pass this info along to others:

I will not be at school tomorrow. For those of you who don't know, I have MANY health issues, one of which being chronic kidney problems.

So, right now I am in the beginning stages of passing a kidney stone. It isn't moving through my body yet, but I know it's on its way.

What does this mean for you?
This means I won't be there tomorrow. I am hoping to AVOID the hospital tonight, but if it gets too painful, I will need to go in and get a morphine shot.

Good luck with tomorrow. I know Mariela has an activity for you all to do.

Much love,
Ms. Rod

11:11AM - Homecoming Cars

Hello everyone...I received this from Jessica Chen and thought it may be a good idea to post here. I hope you all have found cars. And, if you're an old L-ship person and want to help out with a car, I'd be eternally grateful! Jessica's message follows:

Hey Everybody, Jessica Chen here. As most of you guys know, Homecoming is coming up. I really hate bothering you guys over break but I really need CARS!!!! I have. . .like, 6 cars. I need you guys to hand out those slips!! Seriously guys, no excuses!! If you lost your paper slips, below are three that you could print out, cut and put them on convertible cars!! Remember, nice convertibles, pretty ones! I don’t want junky ones calling me!! So, right now, print this out and go out and find cars!!!

Thank you, and enjoy your break!
~Jessica Chen

P.S. After the car slips, I also included a car form for the people to fill out with the car info, a flyer you could put up, and some stuff the people should know.
P.P.S. The more cars you guys get me, the nicer I’ll be to you ! :)
P.P.P.S. Tommy Brandt and Mike Fernando, please call me about the cars you guys have.

We love your convertible car!!
LHS Leadership class is interested in your car. We would like to have it driven in this year’s Homecoming Parade, held on October 24, 2003. If you are interested in driving your convertible, please call Jessica C. at (925) 516-2660 and leave your name and address (to mail you a form).
Thank you,
LHS Leadership 03' - 04'

Are you interested in driving your convertible in LHS Homecoming Parade? If you are, contact Jessica at (925) 516-2660

Homecoming Parade is October 24, 2003. It will be held in Downtown Brentwood. The actual time and starting place of the parade is unknown, but I will contact you about it a couple days before the parade.

You, or a family member/friend can drive your car in the parade. If you can’t have anybody drive your car but would still like your car to be driven in the parade, LHS has licensed adults that can drive your car for you.

The convertibles will be used to have people sit in the back and wave. Leadership decides who will sit in which convertible. Having your convertible in the parade does not mean you can have your friends in the parade.

Thank you for helping LHS Homecoming Parade a success!!

10:01PM - Help!

Ok. So, I just found out that Teacher Appreciation Week is next week. OUCH. Do we have anything planned? I don't think so.

The actual "Appreciation Week" is from May 4-10. Teacher Appreciation Day is May 6. I need help on this folks. I know that the teachers really do a lot and we need to get something together (NOT the handy-dandy ashtrays we got last year).

I was thinking we could "thank" all the teachers at the rally by bringing them out to the center and giving them each a yellow or red carnation. What do you think Linds?

But, beyond that, we need to do something for teacher appreciation week itself. Let me know if you want to take on this lovely task. Sorry that I wasn't so up on it myself guys. I'm trying to get stuff ready for next year, but I need to finish up this year first (what a concept).

8:58PM - Please read this...

Just today a cop in Pittsburg was killed. He was the father of Christina and Jessica Giacomelli. I was thinking that maybe as a Leadership class we could do something (after a couple of days has gone by) to show our support. I wuld love to head up anything, so if anyone has any idea, that would be great. Thanks guys!

Kelli
